Cindy Lou Hensley McCain is a businesswoman and philanthropist. She is also the wife of John McCain, US Senator and 2000 and 2008 presidential candidate from Arizona.
Cindy McCain was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Her father was Jim Hensley, a wealthy beer distributor. In 1980, Cindy married John McCain and they had three children. From 1988 to 1995, she founded and led the non-profit organization, the American Voluntary Medical Team, which organizes trips for medical personnel to the disaster struck and the war-torn areas of the Third World. During this period, Cindy McCain was addicted to painkillers. She has made a deal with the government, and they do not brought charges against her.
On the death of her father in 2000, Cindy McCain inherited the majority control and became chairman of Hensley & Co., one of the largest distributors of Anheuser-Busch beer in the United States. She has participated in two presidential campaigns of her husband in 2008 and has attracted both positive and negative control their appearance, behavior, wealth, spending habits and financial obligations. Cindy McCain remains an active philanthropist and serves on the boards of HALO Trust, CARE and Operation Smile, often taking trips abroad in connection with their activities.
